capturing families together on the beach will always be one the most special parts of my job as an outer banks photographer. this little slice of paradise is a place so many people come to reconnect, make new memories, and spend time together. so anytime an inquiry comes through my inbox asking me to document that for a family, my heart just overflows! the hamelly family’s request was one of those moments. we planned a sweet session on the beach at sunset. i loved watching this beautiful family spend the evening laughing + being together.

although it was a busy night on the beach, we were able to find small spots of quiet. with older kids, it was easier to navigate around other people – but we still had so much fun. i also just have to say: i’m so happy that this family still plans family photos as their kids get older. it can be something that falls off the list of priorities as your little ones get bigger, but i honestly think that’s why it’s important to keep scheduling family photos. no matter how big they get, they’re always your babies! these three truly were a joy and i enjoyed working with each of them to capture their own photos on the sand and in the water, as well as so many beautiful group moments.
