planning a surprise proposal takes thought and usually a good excuse to get your loved one in the perfect spot. autumn + chauvin were visiting the beach with family to see the sunset — and as soon as the sun popped over the horizon, he dropped to one knee!!! she definitely said yes! GAHHH! my heart! It was so freaking perfect.

after celebrating with their family for a few minutes, autumn + chauvin went with us to take a short walk along the waves. we chatted and they just had a blast celebrating their new engagement. it’s such a special moment that i can never get enough of with these surprise proposals. there’s nothing like those first portraits afterwards!  capturing joy like this – raw and real – is probably the best part of my job.
