we’re so happy for kaitlyn and jake! jake reached out to us asking if we could capture his surprise proposal on the outer banks for kaitlyn. we couldn’t wait to be a part of their special moment. chase and i hung out on the beach, acting like tourists and waiting for the big question to happen. it was well worth the wait – kaitlyn was so surprised! these two are so sweet and it was a joy to watch their happiness unfold.

while we were waiting for jake to pop the question, we hung out on the beach together. it was nice to sit back, though the nerves were definitely there! once we noticed jake stand up, we were on full alert trying to capture every moment without being too suspicious! kaitlyn was absolutely shocked! looking back through this gallery makes me emotional because you can just feel the love. after letting them have a moment together, we popped out. we snapped away as they facetimed family and friends to share the big news! 

we ended the evening with a stroll along the beach. it was special to document the raw joy that comes with saying “yes” to your favorite person. kaitlyn and jake hugged, made out, and couldn’t stop sharing cute little glances. it was amazing to spend the afternoon celebrating with them. plus, it was extra special being the first ones to do so. right before we left, we captured them with some of their family with a celebratory drink. such a special moment!
